Rowing

Not content with just ‘going forwards’ in the Dragon Boat, members of The Sisterhood have been lured by the sunshine and flat water conditions and taken up rowing again…just in time for Henley and the regatta season!

First race: WINNERS at Barnes and Mortlake Regatta- 12th June…1000m (mainly breathing through our ears by the end of it!) of the Senior Womens Quad!

Second race: Henley Town and Visitors – 1st August: ummm kinda lost by 2 lengths!

Third race: Peterborough Sprints – 8th/9th August: lost on the water but won the race to the bar!!

Its now the ‘Head Race’ season and sadly the 4’s Head on the 14th November was cancelled due to high winds and seriously tricky rowing conditions! We were ready for it though…what’s a few rolling waves?!

LEARN TO ROW

Always fancied having a go at rowing? Thought you were too uncoordinated? Or just plain scared of the river?..well – have no fear…The Sisterhood ‘Learn to Row’ course is being run in conjunction with Thames Tradesmen Rowing Club. Based in Chiswick, just by Barnes Bridge, the course will give you the basics of this fast growing sport, and by the end of it you’ll be hooked and giving up your late nights out in favour of early morning paddling sessions (OK maybe not..). If you are interested in joining the Sisterhood or learning to row, please email Emma (Talk to Us section) for more details.
